RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:

 

 Research Assistant: January 2006- Present

Center for Anxiety and Substance Abuse (CASA)

 

Supervisor: Dr. Lindsay Ham

 

Duties in the lab have included, but not limited to: data entry, collecting data, scheduling participants, database management, training research, assistants in data entry, running experimental tasks, archival work, and library work.

 

Co-Investigator: June 2005- Present

                       

Supervisor: Dr. Thirunarayanan

 

As a Co-investigator of a project examining the differences between the educational systems in the United States and Foreign Countries, Duties involved: conducting literature reviews, transcribing focus group interview, designing surveys, participants’ recruitment and moderating focus groups.

 

 Honors Thesis: April 2007

The Effects of Test Anxiety on Academic Performance

 

Proposed independent honors thesis project examining the association between test anxiety and performance in an actual exam situation. Project will results in a written thesis and oral thesis defense. Project status: received IRB approval, data collection completed, and data entry completed.

 

 PRIME Fellow- Independent Research                                         May 2006

 

PRIME (Psychology Research Initiatives Mentorship Experience), a yearly summer program in which selected students conduct supervised research.  Additionally, students are directly exposed to diverse research methods and presentations from Psychology faculty members.
